About Richard

Richard has worked for the Lancaster DClinPsy programme for over 10 years, and in addition has over 15 years’ experience working clinically in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

Richard’s areas of interest are working psychologically with schools around child mental health, professional practice and competence, and child safeguarding. Richard is trained in a range of psychological therapies, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy. He has also undertaken additional training in coaching, leadership, consultation and supervision.

Richard has extensive experience of providing training and supervision to school staff. Since 2012, he has led the Lancashire Emotional Health in Schools service which offers support to all high schools in the county. Prior to this, Richard was Clinical Lead for the Targeted Mental Health in Schools initiative in Blackburn with Darwen from 2008-2011, and Lead Clinician for the EHWB in Schools project in Blackburn 2011-2012.
