This course provides an introduction to Attachment Theory and how this can be applied to working with young people. Learn how attachment can influence relationships and behaviours across the lifespan, and how this can present in schools.

WHAT THE COURSE WILL COVER

This training day will help attendees improve their knowledge of Attachment Theory and how this can be applied within schools. The training day will help attendees learn how to better understand pupils’ behaviour, relationships and emotions through using an understanding of Attachment Theory. During the training session, we will work through case studies and activities to enable staff to understand pupils’ needs. We will then discuss strategies staff can use to help pupils engage well with school.

The training will be led by Dr Stacey Story (Clinical Psychologist). Stacey works for the Lancashire Emotional Health in Schools Service; a service that provides training and support to schools across Lancashire.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This introductory course is aimed at staff supporting children within education settings. This includes staff working in nurseries, primary schools, high schools, and colleges. The course is suitable for any staff member with an interest in furthering their knowledge of Attachment Theory. As this is an introductory course, no prior knowledge of Attachment Theory is necessary.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course is delivered in 1 day (running from 09:30 until 16:30) and costs just £135.
