This course aims to provide an introduction to Compassionate Mind Training for health and social care professionals, with a focus on personal practice.
WHAT THE COURSE WILL COVER
- An introduction to the theory behind Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Compassionate Mind Training (CMT), with a focus on applying this to ourselves
- Why we need compassion for ourselves, both generally as human beings, and specifically in our roles as health and social care professionals
- An introduction to experiential exercises aimed at building and cultivating compassion for ourselves
- Thinking about how we can develop and use our ‘compassionate minds’ to help us manage the challenges of our professional and personal lives
WHO IS IT FOR?
This course is aimed at people working in health and social care roles. It is an introductory course, most suited to people who do not have prior experience of using CFT/CMT. It is particularly relevant for people who want to improve their self-care, reduce self-criticism, and who want to learn how to manage the challenges of life and work in helpful ways.
This course is delivered in 1 day (running from 09:30 until 16:30) and costs just £135. The course is facilitated by Dr Laura Twist. Laura is a clinical psychologist, and works as a clinical tutor on the Lancaster Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Laura has a postgraduate qualification in Compassion Focused Therapy, and is experienced in using this approach in her clinical work, and in her work with staff teams.
